Kate & Mark - Phipps Conservatory Summer Wedding Photos

Kate & Mark had the most perfect "destination" wedding ever! These two newlyweds happily set their sights on saying I do at Pittsburgh's gorgeous Phipps Conservatory in Oakland. From Syracuse, New York, these science & physics teachers visited Phipps in Pittsburgh and instantly fell in love with it and knew they wanted to have a destination wedding to the unique and gorgeous floral property in the summertime. When their officiant (Kate's Godfather) asked their guests during the ceremony whether anyone was from Pittsburgh, not a single hand raised into the air-- that only goes to show how incredibly loved these two are by their friends and family!

These two happened to be Kindergarten classmates (with their photos next to each other in their school yearbook-- out of order) many years ago. Then Kate moved to a different school within the district during her 3rd grade year and the two didn't meet up again until later in life. While they knew each other (or of each other) in junior/senior high of school, the duo weren't high school sweethearts. It took until many years later where they met again in life at a bar. Mark said Kate was trying to set him up with a friend of hers, but Mark had other plans as he grew an attraction for her that night-- and from there it was all history (or well, science)!

I had an amazing time capturing their wedding and seeing their love shine between them. Their wedding at Phipps Conservatory was absolutely gorgeous (and quite hot during a heat wave)! But these two had the dorkiest and cutest smiles on their faces the entire day! I absolutely loved watching them interact with each other! For a destination wedding, you may think of Aruba, Jamaica or someplace a little bit more exotic than Pittsburgh, but it was the perfect setting for these two! We had the most incredible sunset over the stunning glass greenhouse and with their wedding being later in the day, the golden hour was the perfect time for wedding photos at Phipps! And what's a wedding in Pittsburgh without a little good luck with a downpour during their reception!
