Jamie + Marshall | Legion Park Wedding Photos {Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer}

So. Much. Color. I couldn't believe my eyes! When I sent Jamie my pre-wedding questionnaire, one of the questions on it is asking what the wedding colors are (honestly, I've shown up to too many weddings in the past where I coincidentally match the wedding colors and feel a bit awkward!), and Jamie's response was "bright colors." I had no clue what this meant, besides the obvious, but I was super excited whenever I arrived at the event to see so many spectacular displays of color! As you look through the photos, you're consumed by the bright summer cheerfulness of the event.

I've known Jamie since Kindergarten and we grew up through the same school system (and probably Girl Scouts but I can't remember that far back). Jamie has always had a kind heart and is a spirited person, so whenever I met with her and Marshall, I was excited to hear about their wedding plans. While we had different friends growing up, it's always nice to catch up with a colleague and be a part of such an important day in their life! The first time I met Marshall was at our bridal consultation to discuss business. I didn't know much about him but quickly learned about him during our engagement session last year (remember their pup Frankie??). He's witty, down-to-Earth, and exudes this strong but nice personality all at once. Wedding days are often stressful and typically don't go as planned (for instance Jamie's vintage pearl necklace broke moments after it was fastened around her neck!), but these two kept their cool and kept us smiling and laughing throughout the day.

After we snapped some getting ready photos at Jamie's childhood home and at Marshall's friend's house, we headed to Legion Park in Hollidaysburg for their wedding ceremony and reception. I'm a huge fan of all in one weddings at one location since it allows for more time to celebrate without worrying about traffic. The gardens of Legion Park provided a very color setting since all of the flowers were in bloom and it provided a gorgeous view for the two to wed in front of their family and friends. Their wedding at Legion Park was unique in the sense that Jamie and Marshall had a few special customs incorporated. The first included some of Jamie's best friends read some passages to the two and the crowd. Next, Jamie and Marshall performed a Celtic handfasting tradition, which binds the two through a series of colorful ribbons that each represent an element in their relation, such as passion, strength, encouragement, unity and so forth. Lastly, Jamie's grandmother performed a prayer for them and then the two exchanged their vows and rings. When the time came, Marshall took full advantage to shine and gave Jamie one of the best kisses I've seen this year!

Their reception at Legion Park was a huge party! Appropriately hash tagged, #foustival was Jamie's biggest production to date! From beer pong to lawn games to quirky floating frames and food trucks, their party had many elements similar to a colorful carnival. It was the greatest party ever! Judging by the engagement of the guests, I'm sure they would agree as people were enjoying their evening-- I'm pretty sure I also witnessed one of the biggest games of flip cup ever! With so much to do and see, we took a break and enjoyed some of the best wedding food we've ever eaten! I loved the idea of food trucks whenever she mentioned it at their bridal consult, but I wasn't expecting gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, roast beef sliders with poutine tater tots, and fish tacos with gouda mac n' cheese. It was delectable and so delicious! There was also a make your own Meadow's Custard bar and hot dogs later in the evening. Every detail was there and nothing was overlooked. Jamie did an outstanding job and put in so much work planning and decorating for their #foustival!

Their wedding pulled from inspiration from a boho wedding, summertime pop art colors and carnival games. I'm so glad we were your wedding photographers and a part of your wedding at Legion Park! Your Legion Park wedding photos are sure to give you smiles for the rest of time! Thank you and congrats to these two amazing souls!
