Blake & Steve - St Bernard Church Wedding and Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Southpointe Reception

Blake and Steve... I don't think I could "Hart" two strangers anymore than I did when I met these two. I walked into their house in Dormont where the guys were getting ready and instantly felt greeted with happiness, like we were old friends. The guys were awesome to photograph as they were waiting for the ceremony to start and had the most down to Earth personalities.
When we arrived at the wedding at St Bernard's church in Mt Lebanon, a few miles outside of Pittsburgh, the girls were finishing up getting ready in a small private room and trying to cool off from the heat. Blake looked stunning in her dress from Anne Gregory on West Liberty in Dormont. After exchanging letters to each other, the guests started to arrive and they lined up for the ceremony.
The inside of St Bernard's church is a gorgeous location to have a wedding! When I first walked in, the architecture and artwork is so beautiful that it will take your breath away. Founded in 1919, the parish has become the "cathedral of the South Hills," serving the communities of Dormont and Mt Lebanon with a membership of over 10,000. The church is a perfect place to have an unforgettable wedding.
After the ceremony, we traveled south down to Canonsburg to the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Southpointe for the reception. Along the way, we stopped at a private residence for their portraits. The crew was having a blast on the party bus and showing off their dance moves.
The reception location continued the day's elegant theme and entertained a couple hundred guests in the grand ballroom. The party started after the introductions-- including a faux Stanley Cup to drink champagne out of (Nothing like getting married a few weeks after the Pittsburgh Penguins win the Stanley Cup)! After heartfelt speeches (ok, well, mostly), the party picked up thanks to the always amazing 2nd II None DJs. The guys did an amazing job entertaining and for the bouquet/garter tosses, the DJs had the guys dance their way to approval to the girls before the garter could be placed on her leg. The humor happened when the girl's father happened to be at the wedding and took watch to the situation!
I couldn't have been happier to be a part of Blake and Steve's wedding day at St Bernard's Parish and at the Hilton Garden Inn at Southpointe! A huge thank you to Courtney of CTG Photography for having me shoot with you!
