The ultimate hockey rink, a gorgeous couple and the cutest dog, oh my! Nicole and Jake's engagement photos at PPG Paints Arena were certainly special and magical! What a way to ring in the new year! We started the afternoon at the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins and walked around to see the hockey spots. I've photographed a charity event at Heinz Field, a wedding reception at PNC Park and now I've finished the trifecta with an engagement session at PPG Paints (formerly Consol Energy Center). As a Pittsburgh sports fan, I couldn't be happier that I was able to touch the ice of our Stanley Cup Champions!
I first met Nicole and Jake at Jake's sister's wedding this past summer. Blake and Steve's wedding was one of my favorite weddings for 2016 and we had a blast with them! It's great to be able to reconnect with this family, since they had such an awesome party, too!
These two were smiling and laughing from the start. It was a cold and dreary typical day in the burgh, so keeping warm and dry inside was to our advantage. We started off with some laughter by the huge Penguins helmet and then ventured our way around the arena, with making stops down to the ice, the Dick's Sporting Goods box office and the mosaic for the greatest hockey player, Mario Lemieux.
We then went over to the Southside Riverfront Park to meet up with Jake's dad and their super sweet and adorable dog, Tori. We tried to get Tori to grab a few photos by the water, but we had a few duck visitors that kept her interested! The dreary day made for some pretty shots with the foggy skyline beside the Monongahela River.
I can't wait for their wedding and I know it's going to be gorgeous and a blast! Congrats to Jake and Nicole!
